PRIVACY POLICY ADDENDUM

This Addendum supplements Urban Resource Institute’s (collectively referred to as “URI,” “us,” “we,” or “our”) Privacy Policy and applies to users of, and information collected through, this Innovative Urban Village (“IUV”) website and all digital assets contained or offered therein (“IUV Website”), as well as through any related offline activities (collectively, “IUV Services”). In addition, this Addendum supplements URI’s Terms & Conditions, to the extent URI’s Privacy Policy is integrated therein.

This Addendum describes the types of information we collect from users of IUV Services – in addition to the types of information listed in the Privacy Policy – and sets forth certain terms and requirements applicable to our collection and use of this additional information. This Addendum does not otherwise modify or supersede the Privacy Policy.

Information Provided/Collected

To apply for IUV housing, individuals must create an IUV Website user account and complete/submit IUV’s online application. The application requires users to provide certain information, including personal information (as described in the Privacy Policy). This information may include, without limitation:

  • Individual Identifier
    • Full name
    • Date of birth
  • Account & Contact Information
    • Username
    • Password
    • Home/mobile/work telephone number
    • Email address

IUV’s housing application also requires users to provide information that may include “sensitive information” or “sensitive data” as defined under certain laws, which may include the following, without limitation:

  • Identification Information
    • Social Security card
    • Driver’s license
    • State-issued photo identification
    • U.S. passport
    • Birth certificate
  • Financial/Employment Information
    • Employer name
    • Dates of employment
    • Income/gross earnings
    • Other Income (including user’s additional employment/other source(s) of income and employment/other source(s) of income for each household member)
  • Health-Related Information
    • Mobility, vision, and/or hearing impairment of user and/or household member(s)
    • Disability, requiring reasonable accommodation, of user and/or household member(s) (including the individual’s name, nature of disability, and requested accommodations)

When required by applicable law, URI will collect consent prior to processing certain categories of sensitive information.

Sharing your Personal Information with Third Parties

We may share your information with certain third-party service providers, only to the extent necessary for their support of IUV Website functions and, in particular, the secure online application portal.

In addition, we may share your information with partner property management companies and the NYC Human Resources Administration (“HRA”), which are assisting with the IUV application process, as well as leasing, apartment residency, and provision of rental assistance subsidies for approved applicants.

Policy regarding Children

URI does not solicit or knowingly collect information from children under the age of eighteen (18) years. Individuals must be at least eighteen (18) years old to create an IUV Website user account and to apply for IUV Housing. Any information pertaining to individuals under the age of eighteen (18) must be provided by a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe that URI has unknowingly collected information from someone under the age of eighteen (18) years, please contact us at Supportivehousing@urinyc.org, and the information will be deleted.

If you would like to modify your information or opt out of having your information shared with third parties, or to cancel your account, please send an email to Supportivehousing@urinyc.org with “Modify Information”, “Opt Out”, or “Cancel Account” in the subject line. In the body of the email, please provide your full name, contact information, and details regarding your request. We may contact you to ensure that your request is satisfied.
